Something that I think modern families would greatly benefit from is a good old-fashioned game room. No not one filled with electronics and sound systems that are super advanced and unfamiliar to parents. Instead what I envision is a room focused on family activities, filled with a ping pong table, board games, a card table, maybe even a crafts area.

Such a space should be designed to be inviting to all members of the family, no matter what age. It would be the perfect spot for everyone to gather in after a good wholesome home cooked meal. No more running to grab the remote control to turn on the television that is stared at for countless, wasted hours. Nope, instead mental stimulation and classic quality family time. If done properly, this could be a grand success, and alter the way the members of the family unit interact and communicate.
